2010-2015 of SADVO: A 5-YEAR CELEBRATION

On March 2010 a 16 member vocal ensemble was formed and its name was "South African Dancing Voices". The ensemble sang a plethora of songs and even made some of its own compositions. Songs about peace, love, justice, and world cultures were performed in sacred places and in concerts. The group performed in  Gauteng, Mamelodi(2011), Durban (Kwazulu-Natal) in 2011 and 2012, at the University of Pretoria, in Soweto, and various other places around Limpopo. The ensemble has been involved in various Community Building projects and Music Development projects with various high schools and foundation schools in the province. 2014 saw us perform extensive works from the classical era with Franz Schubert Mass and a Tribute to SJ Khosa jointly with a local ensemble "Dipela" with a 28-member ochestra led by Maestro Michael Dingaan.

2015 marks our 5 years of existence and we reflects back to the years of the spanish "El Grillo", the African-American spiritual "Mary had a baby", our very own "Let's keep the music alive", the German fugue "Die Nachtigal", and our very own improvised Mozart's cannon "Ave Maria".

We are going to be joined by all previous and present SADVO members as we celebrate this musical history in style. All former members are invited. The repertoire showcases a snippet on each year from 2010-2014.

Date: 26 April 2015
